# Reins CLI reference

> Use the Reins CLI to initialize a testnet policy, inspect transactions, apply configuration, verify the ledger, and revoke delegation with owner keys.

The CLI handles the owner policy lifecycle. Use Node.js 22.12 or later and npm. Run these commands from the directory containing your policy. Version 0.0.2 is a testnet alpha.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 --version
```

## init

Write a starter policy. Add `--testnet-accounts` to create fresh accounts using the testnet faucet.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 init --testnet-accounts
```

| Option | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `--testnet-accounts` | Create testnet accounts and a local testnet wallet file. |
| `-o`, `--out` | Policy output path. Defaults to `reins.yaml`. |
| `-f`, `--force` | Allow overwriting the policy output. |
| `--endpoint` | Override the XRPL endpoint. |

Without account creation, review and fill the starter account fields before planning. Keep testnet seed files private.

## plan

Parse a policy and display the proposed transactions, signing roles, and enforcement descriptions. This command does not submit transactions.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 plan reins.yaml
```

## apply

Sign and submit the policy setup using a local owner wallet file. This command refuses mainnet.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 apply reins.yaml --wallets .reins/testnet-wallets.json
```

`--wallets` is required. `--endpoint` optionally overrides the network endpoint. Setup spans multiple steps; a failure can leave earlier steps completed. Inspect the results and live state before retrying.

## verify

Read ledger state and report how it compares with the policy.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 verify reins.yaml
```

`--endpoint` optionally overrides the endpoint. Verification does not require the owner wallet file. Review all findings, including enforcement limitations.

## revoke

Submit owner-signed cleanup steps, then verify the resulting state.

```bash theme={"dark"}
npx reinskit@0.0.2 revoke reins.yaml --wallets .reins/testnet-wallets.json
```

`--wallets` is required. `--endpoint` optionally overrides the endpoint. Read the final report to confirm the result. Revocation is an owner operation and is not exposed as an agent MCP tool.

## Development from source

Build and run the offline tests from a source checkout:

```bash theme={"dark"}
npm install
npm run build
npm run test:unit
```

Live testnet tests are separate and use network connections and faucet accounts. The [quickstart](/quickstart) covers the complete manual policy flow.
